The Gates Building

Wilmington, Delaware

Completed in 2002

Once a ship building machine shop, the Gates Building was rehabilitated by Pettinaro into a three-story, 100,000 SF Class A office building and a 15,000 SF restaurant along Wilmington’s riverfront. Preserving the shipbuilding history of the Wilmington Riverfront, much of the building’s original industrial charm was left intake while creating modern and comfortable spaces for tenants Barclays and Firestone Roasting House. Situated on the banks of the Christina River, Docklands dining guests enjoy riverfront views, an outdoor bar, live music, and handcrafted pizza.
